Renewing faith

Craigslist has ratcheted up another notch, MoveOn has finally found a cause to rally effectively and New Yorkers can show the country we do have a heart, many in fact (and most have cats).

Check out the 1000+ offers of couches, rooms, jobs, and a Metro Card from the residents of (and around) the city here.

And offer your own space here.

All of the posts are heartfelt and quirk-ily New York. This one especially:

I live in a very, very small apartment in Brooklyn, New York City. I don't have much money until Friday, under 100 dollars so I'm not much of a help with that until them unfortunately and I can't imagine how you'd be able to get up here. I wish I could go down there and get you myself. Also, I live over my landlord, so I'm not sure what the vibe is going to be so I can't really commit to more than 30 days at first, though I'm sure it could be longer, but you would have access to phone, internet, shower, food, I'll get you a subway card so you can get around. I'll do whatever I can to help you. I will be home through most of the weekend, I'm at work right now. Lastly, I am so so sorry, whoever you are, we all hurt for you up here. And we're also angry for you. And just hang on. Ok? Hang on.

Nice people.
