On the shoulders/along the paths

Ran the Central Park southern loop (2x) last night. Also ran it Friday - two eves before Marathon day.
So - practically ran in the giants' footsteps.
I may never swim in a an actual Olympic pool.
Skate rings around Lake Placid.
Row the Thames.
Surf something Laird would get out of bed for.
But, the democracy of running means I can (for a moment, in my mind), be that tall strong Latvian woman (well-known her country-folk).
The city makes all possible. And friends like John and Cathy - completers both - make even mingling amongst finishers possible.
