Red and White

What new can possibly be said about red cardinals against a pure canvas of untouched snow?

My back lawn looks tucked in, smooth, rounded edges at the tree line. The male cardinal looks hired for effect.

And I hope I'm not starting an epidemic of obesity amongst my local birds - they're feeding like the source might be pulled at any moment.
