Adding no names
Traveling's eternal why:
take the road,
up-end routines,
leave friends and lovers to go, briefly, far elsewhere.
Then there are "why-s" of a different scale.
Traveling Arabia in the late 1800's, Gertude Bell writes,
"A compass traverse over country which was more or less known,
a few names added to the map –
names of stony mountains and barren planes,
and a couple of deep wells –
and probably that is all...
It's a bore being a woman when you are in Arabia.”
