PW (pre-Wyeth), I knew of newborns:
to swaddle and shush,
to document blow-out bowl movements and waterworks,
the un-holdability of a bathing baby,
the what and why of tummy time,
of colic's ominous threes (at age 3 weeks, 3 hours a day, at least 3 days a week...)
weathered with the night mantra that this too shall pass,
and the heart and soul crushing love for a tiny being -
I learned alongside Wyeth's cousin Hudson 3 years ago
and apprenticing to Hudson's grandmother Lynn Brown.

Colorado
Hudson's now 3 and the cousins will meet soon in Maine.
Where Wyeth will observe, and Hudson (I hope) will demonstrate,
the why's and wherefore's of blueberry picking,
and nuances of being a fine small boy.
I see glimmers of Hudson, and shadings of Lindsey too, in our little man...
