Bermuda, was Brazil, next Bulgaria (via Bangor)

Will be a spring and summer of exclusively b destinations - simpler for everyone to remember where you've gone off to.

Bermuda - Thursday. For Susanna and Keith's wedding. Nights at Ariel Sands (Michael Douglas' hotel, decorated by Jeffrey Bilhuber/Thom Filicia in 1997 but the photos in the Ariel brochure don't show many vestiges of their high brow pastel and straw mat-makeover. The rooms had reverted to a simpler time of basic bermuda non-taste, but still the pastels, and Jeffrey's shells on a windowsill).

Pitching "High Teas" of Bermuda article but no takers before departure. Maybe will try a more kitsch angle and spin to Wallpaper? Or take very seriously (and dress appropriately) and try for an inflight.

Bermuda the full circle closure on the wooliness of Nepal and Sikkim trip. New York's taken the edge off my memories - hard to hold the landscapes, chilly nights, and mule caravans in your head for long in this city. Which is good in the sense that we adapt, sad for the fading of what I thought was chiseled. Then there was Rio and the decadence of the Copacobana palace, the warmth and the company of R.

And now Bermuda - family, mopeds, silly shorts, the last of the British protectorate/colonies, still gripping firmly.

So I keep going back over the photos of the February trip so I don't forget to go back soon.

Next stops, order not sure, Seal Harbor (by Bangor) and Bulgaria - scuba in the Black Sea...
