Added HW's SUV to friday's exodus west and definitely did not cancel the sum. 5-1/2 hours Chelsea - Montauk. remarkable. In Europe I think that sort of time on the road would take you through at least three countries and possibly across the continent.
Montauk pretty, the Hamptons as pristinely/insanely manicured as ever but the price paid to reach there and be there hardly supports the hype. I vote upstate anyday.
In fact, have voted. Put a bid on a house Thursday. Hope to hear by end of day today if I got it - another couple in contention. In love with the place so hoping their feelings not so fierce and gtheir plans for a life there not so well formed.
