Basmati, Bulgaria and baby

The family gathered in Sea Island(captured by R)

Taxi's coming in 20 to whisk us to Newark, from there make our messy way (free tickets on delta = Grand Tour of Europe's Airports) to to Sofia, Bulgaria.

Returned from nice weekend with G's in Sea Island last night.

Big news of weekend: little Lindsey's pregnant. Gathereing to lay our birthday gifts before Grandpop (books, dried fruits, good coffee to ensure it was on hand), Linds held back. She had the stage (poolside) to herself when she made the announcement:

A little Lidnsey/Chad Brown - en route, eta. mid-April.

According to "What to Expect When..." book, little Brown is currently size of a rice grain; dad's nicknamed, "Basmati."

Awwww.

And I get to be crazy aunt Court. Will follow in Mom's well-trod footsteps and gift the baby bizarre ethnic garb (and beads, and pottery) from markets of east that baby will resent/abhor till age of 25, then treasure for their cool-ness. Till 25, baby Brown Basmati will wish crazy aunt would just shop at Bloomingdales and leave the smelly, tattered things where they sat.

Can't wait - will shop for baby's Bulgarian garb right away.

To Bulgaria we go. Posts from the road, I hope.
