Tigers markings and asphalt snakes

As usual, pumping poor Pinsto for more Sikkim info the other day, he happened to mention Sikkimese prophesies.

He consulted his father by email and, though his father was entertained by my "western approach of asking where are these predictions written down," he did mention the following ones. And they do make my skin tingle.

When the land become like the marking of a tiger’s skin then that is the time for Dharma tradition in Sikkim to wane. You know what tiger’s marking on the land are? Terraced fields. That was the beginning of outsiders coming in Sikkim to make the land productive by the land lords.

When a black snake wraps around the mountain of Tashiding, the tradition of Sikkim will come to end. This we thought the tar road that came before or right after the annexation. (Although the road was being constructed even before the annexation.)

We contain not only our own demise, but also knowledge of it.

But, on the upside, there were more prophesies that Pintso mentioned that heralded a second-round for the former kingdom.

Sikkim-redux.
